A world-wide pandemic, it is not an excuse to waste food.
Disneyland resort recently made the decision to close its doors in response to the corona virus outbreak. Fortunately, the company is taking the opportunity to help out at a nearby food bank.
According to a post on the Disney Parks Blog, the Disneyland Resort will be donating all excess food to the Second Harvest Food Bank. This action is due to the commitment of the company to the reduction of food waste.
Kyleigh Johnson, external communications manager for the Disneyland Resort, said, “The Disneyland Resort has been a continuous commitment to reducing food waste, and the temporary closure of the Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park will be donating surplus food inventory to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.”
