Chinese actress Liu Yifei is playing Mulan in Disney’s upcoming live-action film.

Disney fans in anticipation of the live-action version of “Mulan” got a taste of what the stars, the Chinese actress Liu Yifei, looks like in the title role.
“Production has begun on Disney’s live-action #Mulan!” Walt Disney Studios tweeted Monday, sharing a snap of the 30-year-old actress.
The film will also feature other international stars, including “Rogue: A Star Wars Story” star Donnie Yen as captain Tung, a mentor of the warrior.

Chinese actors Gong Li and Jet Li plays a witch, and the Chinese emperor, respectively, according to the Variety, which says the actor Yoson An, is taking on the role of Mulan ‘ s love Chen Honghui.
Disney previously made a cartoon version of “Mulan”, which was released in the united states in 1998.
The new film will not hit U.S. theaters until March 27, 2020, but fans already have some information with regards to the plot.

“Mulan is the epic adventure of a brave young woman who masquerades as a man to fight Northern Invaders attacks from China,” Disney said, per E!. “The eldest daughter of a respected warrior, Hua Mulan, is a lively, determined and quick on her feet.”
The company adds, “If the Emperor issued a decree that a man for each family must serve in the Imperial Army, she steps in place of her sick father as Hua Jun, becoming one of China’s greatest warriors ever.”
