Disney fans are not happy with Naomi Scott as Jasmine in Aladdin-remake
Some Disney fans are not happy with the choice for the British actress, Naomi Scott (24) and Jasmine in the live-action remake of Aladdin. They find that role to an actress with an Arabic background had to go.
That, reports the BBC.
Although the story of Aladdin in the fictional land of Agrabah occurs, many people on social media believe that it is part of the Middle East and that there is therefore also Arab actors belong to. So find some that Scott is too ‘white’ to Jasmine.
Last weekend, it was announced that Scott was cast for the role of princess Jasmine. The born British has, however, oriental roots. Her mother comes from India.
Aladdin is played by Mena Massoud, a still relatively unknown Egyptian actor, who grew up in Canada. Will Smith plays in the film of Guy Ritchie, the role of the Spirit.
