Disney artist Bambi died
The Chinese-American artist Tyrus Wong’s Friday death. He was the one who made the animated film Bambi from 1942 to his final appearance, with lush landscapes that are more with paint suggested than really done.
The Walt Disney Museum reported Saturday deeply touched by the death of Wong. The artist was 106.
As an Asian immigrant had Wong a lot to do with racism. This was a long time after the release of Bambi is not known that he was the film about the legendary deer had designed. Only in 2001 was Tyrus Wong declared a ‘Disney Legend’.
Shortly after the release of Bambi was Wong fired by Disney in the aftermath of a major strike by the artists, to which he himself had not participated but which the relations were severely disrupted.
Later worked for Wong as a cartoonist for Warner Brothers. Also he signed the christmas cards for Hallmark and painted he pilots.
