Director Maria Peters makes feature film about female conductor
Director Maria Peters is a film about the Netherlands-born female conductor Antonia Brico.
That have producer Shooting Star, and distributor Splendid Film Monday at the Cannes film festival announced.
Brico was at the end of the twenties, the first female conductor in the world who is successful to a large symphony orchestra conductor. Until today, it remains difficult for women to be at the top of the world rankings of important conductors.
“I am incredibly happy that I made this film about Antonia Brico allowed to make,” says Mary Peters. “Antonia was a pioneer where we as the Netherlands can be proud of. This love story shows how hard they must work and how much they need to specify,” says the director.
Who the lead will play, is not yet known. The pictures should be at the end of August start. Splendid Film brings the film in the fall of 2018 in the Dutch and Belgian cinemas. Peters previously made hit movies like Kruimeltje, Pietje Bell, and Sonny Boy.
