Each municipality would someone have to designate who makes decisions for confused people, if relevant agencies fail to reach. That advises the Schakelteam Persons with Confused Behavior Friday at the kavinet.

The team, which is led by former mayor Onno Hoes, says in Trouw that confused people are sometimes very long time to wait on help. The agencies involved do not always work well together, result in delay.

Working approach

The Schakelteam People with Confused Behaviour, is established as a goal for all municipalities and regions by October 1, 2018 to have a good working approach for people with confused behaviour. The team addresses bottlenecks at the right parties, binds the parties and monitors the progress. The final report of the team next year will be presented.

In 2016, received the police some 75,000 reports of possible confused people. In 2015, they were over 65,000 notifications. Since 2011, this amount increases each year by about 13 percent.
