Donald Trump has diplomate Kelly Knight Craft nominated as new ambassador to the United Nations. That has the American president Friday, via Twitter announced.
Trump said in his tweet: “Kelly has an excellent job done and I have no doubt that, under her leadership, our country at the highest level will be represented.”
The 56-year-old Craft currently works as ambassador of the United States in Canada. Her new position will need to be confirmed by the Senate.
The Republican from the U.s. state of Kentucky, was this week mentioned as a serious candidate by a recommendation of the person who has most say in the Senate: the meerderheidsleider Mitch McConnel.
It was not immediately clear if Craft is actually a kabinetspositie would hold, just as the incumbent ambassador, Nikki Haley.
