Diarra is demanding 6 million euro of FIFA and belgian football association after won case
Lassana Diarra has Thursday a lawsuit against FIFA and the Belgian football association belgian football association won. According to the handelsrechter they had in February 2015 the transfer of the Frenchman from Lokomotiv Moscow to Charleroi airport may not stop.
The 31-year-old Diarra was by the FIFA sanctioned because he, in 2014, refused to train for his club Lokomotiv Moscow after he got into fights with the former head coach Leonid Kuchuk. He left with the Russians, and the club at the FIFA 20 million demanded from the player.
In may 2015, explained the FIFA Diarra a fine of 10 million euros and a speelverbod of fifteen months in order to join another club. The international sporttribunaal CAS maintained the heavy punishment.
Diarra could then draw at Charleroi, but the club hooked off because it should help paying for the fine. That is, according to the handelsrechter unjustified, because that is contrary to the free movement of workers in Europe.
“The fault of FIFA and the Belgian bond is fixed and the damage is established. The article in question is illegal on the European law and therefore not applicable. It will, in the future, the career of football players anymore. We are now going to the FIFA and the belgian football association, the total lost profits claim, at least 6 million euros”, responded a lawyer of Diarra.
After his speelverbod signed Diarra in the summer of 2015, with Olympique Marseille.
