Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.) President Donald Trump calls to impose more severe economic sanctions against the Cuban government and to indict Raul Castro, the island nation of the former President, remains the Supreme leader of the Cuban Communist party.

DeSantis, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee of national security,” of this week’s deep concern over the Cuban government, the record of the oppression of his people, the assassination of Americans, expressed, and works with some of the world’s worst actors, including Iran, North Korea and Venezuela to undermine U.S. interests.

During Wednesday’s hearing, DeSantis lamented the Obama-condemns government’s decision to release three men who were killed for their roles in connection with the illegal shooting down in 1996 of two American civilian aircraft, the three Americans and a U.S. resident.

Instead of the release of the men responsible to return to Cuba to “a hero’s welcome”, the US government, the demand for more accountability from Cuba for the murder of the Americans, not less.

“Why not Raul indicted Castro for his role?” DeSantis asked. “I think that, if the Trump administration is moving forward with a series of charges, which would send a very strong signal that it means business and it will take care of that some of these questions linger for a long time.”
