Der Spiegel does press charges against a journalist that stories invented

The German magazine Der Spiegel, does press charges against the fallen journalist Claas Relotius. The magazine suspects that he has money that he is among readers collected in fatah. Previously gave Relotius that he his stories for the magazine “to a large extent” had been forged.

The journalist would through a privémailadres calls have done to raise money for orphans in Turkey. The money was collected at a private bank account.

How many people donated and where the money is remained according to Der Spiegel, not known. The editorial staff of the magazine was not informed of the fundraising campaign.

Relotius wrote as a freelancer for Der Spiegel, but since one and a half years he was in service. According to the magazine, since 2011 nearly sixty stories of him in the magazine, and Spiegel Online published. According to his own explanations are certainly fourteen stories partially distorted.
