Deposed South Korean president apologizes
The deposed South Korean president, Park Geun-hye, has Tuesday, her apology to the people of South Korea. Also she said to co-operate with the investigation.
Park did this on her arrival at the office of the public prosecutor, where they Tuesday is interrogated about the corruption scandal which she was deposed. “My apologies to the population. I will be honest and cooperate with the interrogations,” said Park in her first public comments since her dismissal on 10 march.
A mederwerker of the public prosecutor indicated that the interrogation of the former president probably deep into the night.
Park is the first democratic elected leader in South Korea and marketed. Elections for a new president are scheduled for may 9.
The 65-year-old Park was since February 2013 president, but last december, the parliament an impeachment procedure after a corruption scandal that in particular is caused by her friend and imprisonment: Choi Soon-sil.
Choi would, according to prosecutors, in her position have abused. They cited large companies such as Samsung about tens of millions to donate to foundations that are in her name stood.
Park has always said that they never inappropriate requests it has received from Samsung, or that the company’s unlawful demands. The South Korean justice has brought actions against the ceo, Jay Lee (48) of Samsung because of bribery. He is also suspected of embezzlement.
