The White house says, keep the summit of the presidents golf resort, saving millions of dollars.
A trio of house Democrats introduced legislation Friday to block President Trump hosting the next year’s G7 summit, on one of his Florida resorts.
Reps. Lois Frankel from Florida, Bennie Thompson from Mississippi, and Steve Cohen of Tennessee proposed that the Trump Heist Action undermines the G-7 (THUG). A companion bill sponsored by Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Sheldon Whitehouse, Dr. I., introduced in the Senate, according to lawmakers.
The house bill would prohibit the funding for the three-day summit at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in June. It would also require a Trump to the Convention to present documents in relation to the decision to host the summit at Doral, the legislator says.
“[Trump] is a shame, said lots of his corruption,” Frankel, in a press release. “He abused the office of the presidency and the violation of the law by millions of dollars from U.S. and foreign money to his family-owned resort by holding an important meeting of the leaders of the world on his Doral.”
Acting White house chief of staff Mick Mulvaney made the announcement on Thursday that next year, the G7 will meet in Doral on June 10-12.
Mulvaney said the decision will save taxpayers millions, because the resort will offer their services at cost price.
Democratic lawmakers alleged on Friday that the last G7 summit will cost upwards of $40 million.”

Doral was selected from 12 possible locations to host the international meeting, with Trump personally recommend his system. Mulvaney told reporters Thursday it was “the best place.”
If the trump brand “asked about the optics of the hosting of the event at a trump-resort-and possible financial gains, the President said, perhaps as a result of Mulvaney does not need help.”
“The Trump family is worthy of your money, before you went into politics,” he said.
