Madison De La Garza wanted to be her half-sister, Demi Lovato, a happy birthday in an emotional post on Instagram on Monday — almost a month after the singer suffered an apparent overdose.

In the post, De La Garza reflected on a grim reality could have unfolded.

“Today, one of the worst days of my life, but instead I get to spend the thank God, the incredible doctors, demi’s team, and everyone all over the world who offered their support – without these people I would not my big sister anymore,” she wrote on Lovato’s 26th birthday.

The 16-year-old also described her famous brother or sister of the personal peculiarities.

“I’ve been thinking about how I would like that everyone could see the stupid little things that she does, how her nostrils move as she says that certain words and when she brushes my hair behind my ear as I try to sleep, because that are the things I’m grateful for today,” she continued.
