A preliminary agreement was reached in a labour dispute between food service workers and their employers at Loyola Marymount University, which threatened to derail Thursday’s Democratic presidential debate.

“Every worker deserves fair wages and social benefits. That is why I was proud to help bring all stakeholders to the table to reach, UNITE HERE Local 11, Sodexo, and Loyola Marymount University, an offer that meets their needs and supports workers,” Perez said in a statement.
“I would like to Sodexo and UNITE HERE for the next good faith together to forge an agreement that is a win-win Situation for all, and I am pleased with the constructive engagement of the LMU leadership that is indispensable to the resolution of this negotiation.”
The DNC has said it notified the campaigns of the agreement.
The DNC had already once before the debate at Loyola Marymount University, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) moves through a separate fight at this school.
