Death toll due to fire in Bangladesh rises to 25

The death toll by the fire in a kantoorflat in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, has risen to at least 25. More than seventy injured are still in hospitals. Rescue workers searching the building for survivors.

The damage to the FR Tower, where on Thursday hundreds of people were at work, is great. The fire brigade had great difficulty to fight the flames and got help from military helicopters to bring the fire under control.

Some people in the building tried during the fire, down to climb, six of them fell and were killed.

“Of the 25 fatalities, there are 24 transferred to their families,” says an officer who. The survivors of the last mortal remains are still not found.

Cause of fire is not yet known

The cause of the fire is not yet known. The police, the owner of the building examined, because the suspicion exists that non-compliance with the safety regulations. The brandinspectie had several times insisted on improvements, but that’s probably not happened.
