Death by collapsing building Mumbai rose to 33
The death toll of the collapsed apartment in the Indian city of Mumbai has risen to 33. Rescue workers search Friday still for survivors in the rubble of the 117-year-old building.
There are no reliable estimates of the number of missing persons. It is the second collapse of a large building in Mumbai in a month’s time. The city has also suffered from flooding as a result of heavy monsoon rains.
In total, 46 people from the rubble removed since the building Thursday collapsed, especially 33 of them survived the tragedy.
The cause of the collapse is still not clear. Many residents continued to live in the flat, although the authorities the building in 2011, unsafe stated.
