WASHINGTON – District of Columbia police say a man fatally shot by an officer when he refused to drop a knife had stabbed a woman during an argument.
A police report released Monday says the 29-year-old Gerald Hall took the woman, who has the key of the house and let itself without permission on Sunday. Chante Hill tells the police that the Hall turned on the gas on the stove, lit paper towels and pushed her out of the house. When they go back inside, Hill says Hall put her in the forearm.
Police say Hall refused an officer of the orders to drop the knife and was fatally shot.
An officer is on administrative leave. The department does not identify officers involved in shootings. The police has not the races of the officer or Hall.
