BALTIMORE – A day care provider in Maryland who police say deadly force an 8-month-old girl is charged with murder.
The police said in a statement on Thursday that the day care worker 23-year-old Leah Walden is charged with first-and second-degree murder, first-and second-degree assault, first – and second-degree child abuse and reckless endangering.
Authorities did not elaborate on the nature of the injuries, and said they have not determined a motive for Tuesday’s attack, which happened during the baby’s nap-time.
It is not clear whether Walden has a lawyer. Court records of her case are still not available online.
