Singer Davina Michelle, this year is the highest new Dutch entry in the Top 2000. Her number 1 hit Takes too long is on position 477.
The artist was Wednesday surprised with the Top 2000 Award, a new prize of NPO Radio 2. This puts the radio station now an artist or band from the Top 2000 extra in the spotlight.
Davina Michelle received the award in the radio show The Wild in the Afternoon, prior to the publication of all two thousand songs that Radio 2 from christmas day at 08.00 am broadcasts. “What fat, thank you. I’m very happy”, said the singer who also is nominated for an Edison award.
Death artists high in the list
Furthermore, striking in the Top 2000 this year: artists who this year died, such as Avicii, Aretha Franklin, and Charles Aznavour, to do well in the list. The highest new entry in the music list is Levels of the april death dj Avicii, made NPO Radio 2 Wednesday known.
Levels is number 260. Also four other songs from the the Swedish dj and producer this year is higher listed. Wake Me Up is 533 places rose to number 100. Addicted To You is even 1158 places higher, at 807. Avicii continues with A Sky Full of Stars and Hey Brother in the ranking.
Listeners have this year also massively voted on in August has died Aretha Franklin. Songs of Charles Aznavour and singer Dolores O’riordan of Irish band The Cranberries to rise also in the list.
Aretha Franklin with ‘ Natural Woman at 182 and that is 646 places higher than last year. Her duet with George Michael, I Knew You Were Waiting, rising 904 places to 1040. Franklin is also with Respect, I Say a Little Prayer and Think in the rankings.
Zoutelande highest ranked BLØF-number
Spotting in the Top 2000 are The Beatles with 38 numbers, Queen with 35 songs (eight of which are new) and Coldplay 28. The BAND has just like previous years, the majority of the Dutch quotations, this year is the Zeeland band with 19 tracks in the list represented, and that is one more than last year. The highest ranked BAND number is Zoutelande at number 31.
The fastest riser in the list is Whatever It Takes of Imagine Dragons, from 1979 to last year to 360. Also Live of André Hazes makes a huge leap: from 1684 last year to 152 now: a difference of 1532 places.
