Davina Michelle as the first Dutch eight weeks at the top of Top 40

Davina Michelle with her hit Takes Too Long for the eighth consecutive week in first place in the Top 40. Never before was a Dutch singer so long at the top of the charts.

The previous record stood in the name of Yvonne Keeley, If I Had Words in 1978, the Top 40 for seven weeks in belgium.

Anita Meyer was also seven weeks at number one, but he did that with two hits; The Alternative Way (1976) and Why Tell Me, Why (1981).

Singer Davina Michelle, who is nominated for an Edison music award, this year is also the highest new Dutch entry in the Top 2000. Her number 1 hit Takes Too Long, was placed at position 477. Earlier this week, she received the Top 2000 Award, a new prize of NPO Radio 2.

Radio 538 broadcasts the Top 40 Saturday afternoon between 14.00 and 18.00 hours.
