Daria is set to take on the world yet again.
With the launch of a new production studio, MTV a line-up of classics, including the famous animated sitcom “Daria”, Fox News has learned Thursday.
MTV Studios with the goal of developing new shows and the re-inventing of old-but-gold hits for streaming services and partner tv networks.
“With MTV Studios, we are for the first time ever the opening of this vault outside of our own platforms to reimagine the franchises with new partners,” said MTV President Chris McCarthy in a press release.
A spin-off of “Beavis and Butt-Head,” “Daria” revolves around the eponymous protagonist, who speaks dry humor and commentary on popular culture and the broad social problems in a high school setting.
The show will take place on writer Grace Edwards, who worked on another well-received comedy programs, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Inside Amy Schumer”.
Launched in 1997, “Daria” ran for five seasons.
Also in the works are remakes of sci-fi anime “Aeon Flux”; the staple reality shows “Real World” and “Made”; together with the new docuseries “Straight Up Ghosted”, which follows young people who are trying to rekindle lost relationships, and The “Valley” in the essence of the “Hills” and “Siesta Key”.
