Dallas officer hospitalized after crash sends patrol car in the creek

DALLAS – Dallas police officer was taken to a hospital after their patrol car was involved in a wreck, and then over a bridge into the brook below.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Westmoreland and Choose the Road in West Oak Cliff on Monday around 3 hours

Police say the officer was on his way to a robbery-in-progress call, and was to the south on Westmoreland when he was hit by a Chevy truck, the launch of his patrol car in the air and in the creek.

A witness says the truck ran a stop sign.

The police says that the suspect or suspects ran away from the scene and are currently searching for them. They believe that the truck is probably stolen.
