An Oklahoma corrections officer arrested in his 3-year-old son’s death may have been drunk when he allegedly forgot the toddler in a hot truck Thursday, authorities said.
Adam Kolar, 33, and a friend found the child unresponsive inside the car with the windows rolled up at around 5 am, FOX25 Oklahoma reported. The friend told a 911 dispatcher that the toddler was left in between 90 minutes and two hours.
“[The child] left in the vehicle sitting in the car, ‘ Kolar friend said in a 911 call obtained by KWTV-TV. “We finally found him in the car. He is unconscious and he is drooling. We need someone here now.”

Kolar is performing CPR on the child when the police and the ambulance arrived, the station reported. The boy was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The police said Kolar, who was watching the toddler while his wife was at work, gave a “smell of alcohol” and “slurred speech” while being interviewed. Researchers say that potential poisoning may have caused Kolar to forget the child was in the truck.

The authorities were to perform a test of Kolar the alcohol level in the blood to determine whether he was drunk.
Meanwhile, police said they tried to piece together a timeline of events to determine exactly how long the boy was in the hot truck.
Kolar was charged with first-degree murder Friday and was held at the El Reno City Jail.
