connectVideoWhy ‘break’ Facebook might be hard to do
Sources tell Fox News that the breaking of America’s big tech companies, carries serious national security consequences; Gillian Turner reports.
CrossFit, the brand workout regime, accused Facebook of “utopian socialists” and to the left of the platform after the social network removed a group dedicated to a diet.
The move to stop both Facebook and Instagram came in the wake of the decision to remove “without warning or explanation of the Banting7DayMealPlan,” a group that advocated a diet focused on eating foods that are as close as possible to its natural state as possible — free of processing, additives, preservatives, and sugar.”

The group’s suspension was later reversed, but CrossFit issued a long statement of the announcement of the end of their presence on the platform.
“All activities on the CrossFit, Inc.’s Facebook and Instagram accounts will be suspended with effect from May 22, 2019, if CrossFit is investigating the circumstances relating to Facebook’s deletion of the Banting7DayMealPlan and other well-known complaints from the public about the social-media company that can have a negative impact on the security and privacy of our worldwide CrossFit community,” the statement read.
The company provided eight “public from complaints” as the reasons to quit.
“Facebook collects and aggregates user information and shares it with state and federal government, as well as the safety of organizations from other countries,” the first reason read.

“Facebook is working with the government and security forces are on a large citizen surveillance programs such as PRISM,” CrossFit said in the second reason.
“Facebook censors and delete user accounts based on unknown criteria and, at the request of third parties, including the government and foreign governments,” it continued.
“Facebook collects, aggregates, and sells information for the user, as a matter of business. The business model allows governments and companies to make use of the algorithmically conjured advertising categories of advanced data-mining and control instruments.”
“Facebook’s news feeds are censored and designed to reflect the political colour of Facebook, the utopian socialists, while remaining vulnerable to misinformation campaigns designed to stir up violence and prejudice.”

The statement noted that CrossFit is a “voluntary user of and contributor to this market, can and should take from this particular manifestation of the square, but if it is clear that such responsibilities have been betrayed, or reneged on at the expense of our community.”
“Morality demands that we do, our beliefs with respect to the fitness, health and nutrition, which sit at the heart of CrossFit identity and prescription,” it added.
