A wild raccoon dog is terrorizing an English village, terrifying the local population and attacking pets.
SWNS reports that the police were called to Clarborough in Nottinghamshire this week after a number of residents were subjected to a two-hour confrontation with the strange-looking animals.
Villager Mandy Marsh was woken by a “blood curdling scream” early on Tuesday morning and her husband Dale ran outside to see a raccoon dog, the confrontation with the couple’s pet goat, and a pony. “He came back and he said to me: ‘you’re going to have to come have a look, there is something in the field, the attack on the pony and I have absolutely no idea what it is,” she told SWNS.

“This raccoon was completely crazy. It was hissing and screaming and snarling,” Marsh added. “It went completely crazy.”

Armed with planks of wood, took the couple two hours to hunt the evil raccoon dog, although their pet goat was left with a sore shoulder and scratches following the animal attack.
The raccoon dog back moments later to confront a dog walker outside the March home, according to SWNS.

The police warned local residents to be vigilant.

Two raccoon dogs missing from a nearby housing on the morning of May 28, according to Nottinghamshire Police. “The animals, who are described as being of the same size of a medium-small-medium-sized dog, are potentially dangerous if they are approached if they are not domesticated,” it added, in a statement.
Marsh said a local wildlife tracker, will be offered to help keep track of the raccoon dogs and had told her that something had been attacking the local wildlife, recently.

Raccoon dogs are not raccoons, but are members of the canid, or dog family, according to the british Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). They are related to foxes and wolves.

“Raccoon dogs are wild animals than pets,” explains on her website, noting that the animals are “a very invasive risk to native species in Europe.
