LONDON – A London court has found an American political consultant who worked on Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential campaign guilty to groping a fellow passenger on a trans-Atlantic flight in the last month.
Samuel Pimm was convicted of assault Monday after a trial at Ealing Magistrates’ Court. He denied the touch of his female accuser.
Prosecutors say that the 62-year-old consumed a number of alcoholic drinks on the Washington to London flight before he laid his hands on a woman in the adjacent seat.
The woman testified that she tried to sleep when she felt Pimm touches her arm and chest, then move in the direction of her crotch. His attorney stated that they could dream.
Pimm, of Virginia, was given a fine of up to 720 pounds ($930) and ordered to pay 952 pounds ($1,231) in compensation and costs.
