Maren Morris talks country crossover, marriage with Ryan Hurd

Country star says that she is not the sense of genre boundaries.

Country music star Maren Morris clapped back at an Instagram hater last week after users criticised the singer’s outfit, and she earned “creepy sexual advances” because of her styling choices.

Morris, 28, in a layer of black bodysuit, jean shorts and black high-heeled cowboy boots, caption of the picture: “When you are trying to reach a LEWK + your dog is a– photobombs.” The photo has garnered almost 100,000 likes since it was posted on Thursday.

But the comment section is ugly when a user told the star to “respect themselves and the cover-up.”

“Don’t cry foul when you are asked to perform sexual acts by a man,” the Instagram user added.

When you are trying to reach a LEWK + your dog’s ass photobombs. ✨?

“Eh, I’m married to @ryanhurd and he does not need to ask,” Morris replied with a winking emoji.

The musician then took a screenshot of the comment and posted it on her Instagram story, adding that her “real smile.”

Her husband, the artist Ryan Hurd, however, was not amused.

“I don’t usually respond because Mares can handle themselves, but I had a whole response to this based on the fact that usually only dudes let that … here, but you’re a woman! Wow! Maybe even a mommy … I hope that no one has ever said something like that for you or maybe your poor, poor daughter, who will probably grow up in a house that tells her that her own body is a bad thing,” Hurd fired back, adding that Morris was not naked on the picture.

Dozens of fans jumped to Morris’ defense, scolding the woman for her reaction.

“Who are you to tell anyone what they should and should not wear? Maren is a great singer and she is very beautiful. They need not to cover that because people like you have problems with it,” a fan answered.

“Keep killin’! Your body is rocking. You need to show it off! Especially since you work hard for those gains. Everyone is always going to hate so give them something to hate about it!” another added.

Two days later, Morris placed a follow-up photo of himself with a cheeseburger, which shows that she likes to keep it real and the re-exit of the “horrible” comment.

Some of the turds on my last picture had the cowardly nerve to suggest that I deserved creepy sexual advances of men for my clothes, so I had to cover up, and I thought that it was quite gruesome. I realize that I chose this career and I chose a picture on this platform, but the choice to do the illegal sexual acts of wearing a bodysuit? No. That is what is wrong with it already. I refuse to ever, ever be ashamed of the body God gave me. I’m proud to be Irish, Native American, English… proud of my cellulite and proud of my strong back + arms. I worked my ass off on my body the last few months, and I am proud to show that work. The whole day little girls + boys measure themselves against societal shame & fake photoshopped bodies on Instagram. So what I think I want to say is, I didn’t choose to be a role model for the body-shaming, judgmental though; I think it’s great to be a role model for children and for all who are simply trying to figure out how to love themselves every day. Screw the haters and eat your damn cheeseburger. ? #StrongNotSkinny
