Cory Booker, other Dems, contrary to AIPAC ‘boycott’ reports say

A leaked audio recording captured presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker, D-N. J., said he and the leaders of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) “SMS back and forth like a teenager”, while the lobby group’s annual policy conference in Washington earlier this month.

Booker spoke with members of AIPAC’s New Jersey delegation during the three-day meeting, in spite of a campaign called progressive representation of the interests of MoveOn, 2020 candidates snub of the event.

“Cory said was the theme of the “fake news” AIPAC President Mort Fridman, according to the Intercept. “An organization that threatened the number of presidential candidates and said,” Don ‘T show up to AIPAC.’ I immediately got a call from Cory’s office to say: well, obviously, Cory’s gonna be there. … Cory is with the state of Israel. And Cory is with the U.S.-Israel Alliance.”

During his address, Booker Fridman thanked for his “leadership and friendship,” and dealt with the rise in fanaticism and anti-Semitism.

“Let me be clear,” Booker said. “Anti-Semitism is un-American. It is anti – American. It hurt deeply to our commonly held values, and we must hate steps on the international stage against the malicious acts that target.”

His point, he reminded the audience about his co-sponsorship of Israel’s Anti-Boycott law, the reports against international efforts to promote Boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement, while the First Amendment rights of the news site.

The BDS movement is encouraged to stop the companies doing business with Israel. The draft law is contrary to the efforts to promote the boycott. Civil rights groups argue, it could of extremism criminal penalties for non-violent active.

Booker also told to block the audience of his work with AIPAC fellow Democrats, from the boycott of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 2015 address to Congress, his opposition to the Iran nuclear deal.

He also criticized fellow Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who was condemned by officials of both political parties, according to tweeted, “It’s all about the Benjamin’s, baby” in the last month, in reference to AIPAC’s influence in Congress.

But Booker was not the only Democrat to interact with AIPAC during the conference.

Sen. Kamala Harris met with AIPAC representatives in their Senate office in Washington instead of participate in the conference, Haaretz reported. Harris also tweeted photos of the meeting.

According to the same news site, Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Amy Klobuchar also met with AIPAC representatives in their offices.

Netanyahu mentioned Omar’s tweet in his speech at the conference.

“Take it from this Benjamin: It’s not about the Benjamins!” Netanyahu told the Washington conference via satellite.

Booker also Vice President Mike Pence, of the AIPAC speech as a partisan criticism.

“There was no mercy in his remarks,” said Booker. “It was not -” let’s reach and to unify Democrats and Republicans.'” the Jerusalem Post reported.
