According to a new report, as a result of global warming melting the glaciers on Mount Everest will be more and more to bodies of dead climbers. Nearly 300 people have died on the icy peaks of Everest, since its first attempt to conquer the mountain in 1921. A recent expedition to recover some of the bodies have sparked heated debate about the morality of risking more lives to retrieve the bodies of one of the most unforgiving places on Earth.
The concerns about the corona virus and have prompted the Nepalese authorities to close down access to Mt. Everest, according to reports.
Citing an unspecified government official, The Kathmandu Post reports that officials have ended the spring climbing expeditions, including Everest climbs.
The famous mountain can be climbed from the north side, that is, it is in Chinese-administered Tibet, as well as the the southern part of Nepal. The decision of the Designated officers to have access to the mountain and follows a similar reported move by the Chinese counterparts earlier this week.

“This is disappointing news, both for our expedition leaders are our customers, who have been trained for months to climb it,” said Lukas Furtenbach, the climber and the chief executive officer of the guided expedition company with Furtenbach Adventures, in a statement e-mailed to Fox News on Thursday. “At Furtenbach-we will continue to emphasize safety, security and well-being for us, so that we understand the serious consequences of a Covid-19-escape in the house at all. Unfortunately, we have to agree that this is a responsible call to make right now.”
Fox News has made every effort to get the nepalese Department of Immigration to a request for comment on this story.
