Corona virus, concerns the appointment of Southwest Airlines ‘ removal of the sick passenger on flight

Passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight to Las Vegas and wore masks over their mouths and one other passenger was escorted from the plane after showing flu-like symptoms.

The airline confirmed to Fox News that while the move was made out of “an abundance of caution,” but was made “in light of the recent concerns about the corona virus.” The ill passenger was reportedly recently traveled to Beijing.

In a statement obtained by Fox News, a spokesman for Southwest Airlines confirmed that, “the Local emergency medical personnel met the Flight 2889, once you arrive at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Las Vegas on Saturday due to reports of a sick customer.

The medical personnel met the plane when it landed in Las Vegas, NBC 4 reports. According to the news outlet, the passenger was referred to a medical facility for evaluation. She had reportedly been screened for the virus in Mexico, and in Las Vegas.

The passenger was released after a medical evaluation.

In a statement obtained by Fox News, a spokesman for Southwest Airlines confirmed that, “the Local emergency medical personnel met the Flight 2889, once you arrive at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport in Las Vegas on Saturday due to reports of a sick customer. Out of an abundance of caution and in the light of the recent problems with the corona virus, the crew followed the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, to respond, to make sure that the customer is, and for those who travel with them, to get the help or support they need.”
