Consumers ‘ association warns of ‘downright dangerous’ stair gates
The Consumers ‘ association warns of four “downright dangerous” stair gates which, among others, the Praxis to be sold.
Two of these, the Jeweret Emma and the Jeweret Laura, by the Praxis sold. The other two are the Noma Extending Metal and the Kidsriver Flexy; these are mainly sold online.
According to the Consumer requirements the tested stair gates to the European safety standards, but in practice, they are still dangerous. The organization asserts that children simply the gates can open or crawl under it now.
It is not the first time that the Jeweret Emma is insufficient in the test. In February 2015, a purchase of this stair gate is highly discouraged, but after a year it appeared the stair gate again in the catalogue of various stores.
The association brings together the results of the test with the Nederlands Normalisatie-instuut (S), that the development of standards for products, services, and processes that guides and encourages.
