The former FBI Director, James Comey is speculating that Special Counsel Robert Müller was the Chairperson in the “fourth quarter” of his Russia-probe, citing the agreement made with the former trump-campaign-Paul Manafort.

Comey, when asked at what stage he believes the Russia investigation, said to be made of the St. Louis Public Radio “an argument that the conviction and the plea and the cooperation of Paul Manafort – can represent that we are in the fourth quarter.”

“The way they usually do the investigation work from the bottom to the top, and so they are always pretty high,” Comey said.

Comey, triggered by President Trump, may 2017, led the FBI to investigate if the office whether any person in connection with the trump-supported campaign, the Russians in their efforts to interfere in the election of 2016.

The investigation eventually led to the appointment of Mueller as a special counsel. The probe also led to charges against Manafort, nothing to do with the 2016 campaign.

Last month, Manafort, was convicted on eight counts of bank and tax fraud, making him the first campaign staff of a trump found guilty, in Müller’s sample. Last week, Manafort pleaded guilty to charges in a separate case of foreign lobbying violations in a plea agreement that includes cooperation with Müller.

Comey, who has come under criticism from President Trump and other Republicans on the issue of Russia probe, said that he can say with “certainty”, when Müller shortly before the end of the investigation, which is also on the search, whether the President acted wrongly by his dismissal of Comey.

“The reason to say why I’m hesitant, is Bob Mueller led to his investigation as a professional you know nothing about them, except for its public submissions, and that is as it should be,” Comey said. “And so I can’t say with certainty where he is.”

Comey’s comments come in the same week, Trump ordered the lifting of the secrecy degree of a number of important documents in connection with the FBI investigation of Russian actions during the 2016 presidential elections, including the publication of text messages from Comey and a number of other important players in the Russia-investigation “without editors” – including Bruce’s ear, and Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and the former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
