Colorado boy, 14, shot dead, all over some Jordans, the family said

A 14-year-old Colorado boy who was shot by a friend of mine from the past week in a pair of Jordan sneakers, according to the teenager’s family members.

The police said the high school freshman Treaujalaune Lornes was shot and killed by a youth in a Denver home, and that the suspect was in custody.

“My brother was gunned down on the steps to the house, and now they’re saying that it’s not a gun, it was more than just a pair of shoes! It was more than just a pair of shoes,” Lornes ” sister, Tyquajanna, told KMGH.

Treaujalaune Lornes was killed on Wednesday in a pair of sneakers, his family said.

They are saying that the alleged argument began working at a car wash in the area Lornes high school, and went to the house where he was killed.

“The guy who was sitting there with him and watched him die, saw him, and he would have died in our own homes, to have killed him,” Tyquajanna he said.

The suspect’s identity has not been released because of his age. He was being held for investigation of manslaughter, second-degree assault, three counts of felony menacing, attempt to influence a public official and the juvenile’s possession of a gun.

Formal charges are expected to be submitted at a later date, pending a review of the case to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
