Colombia closes temporary truce with rebels ELN
The Colombian government has set a temporary cease-fire signed with rebel group ELN. The agreement lasts for 102 days.
President Juan Manuel Santos confirmed the news Monday, after ELN the file had been announced. “The priority is to protect civilians,” says Santos in a speech on television.
According to the catholic ELN, the agreement is closed because of the visit of Pope Francis to Colombia later this week.
