Cocu expects difficult duel with ‘defensively strong’ Excelsior

PSV coach Phillip Cocu is expected Saturday with a tricky away game for his team in Rotterdam against Excelsior.

“Excelsior is defensively very strong. You can see that coach Mitchell van der Gaag is a part of his career in Portugal has experienced. That he translates, and he brings in the team,” said the 45-year-old coach Friday at a press conference.

“In addition, they have a number of good footballers in the team, with three fast guys in front. In the transition, they are very dangerous.”

“A number of boys sitting close to each other. If a player is not in form or not performing optimally trains the choice easier. Now trains everyone crisp. I hope that I choice throughout the whole season.”

The match between Excelsior and PSV starts on Saturday at 19.45 and is under the direction of Danny Makkelie.
