Coast guard Cyprus gets 143 boat people from the sea
The coast guard of Cyprus has Monday a boat with 143 people on board found. The vessel dobberde for the coast at the town of Pomós. Fifty of the passengers appeared to children.
The group was made by smugglers from Turkey to Cyprus.
The patrol boat of the coast guard has the boat, with refugees in tow and taken to the port of Latsi. According to the police of the island, most passengers coming from Syria. They are housed in a refugee camp near the capital Nicosia.
Cyprus is just 70 kilometers from the Southern Turkish coast. The past half year, there are 390 refugees arrived to the island. In total, there are in Cyprus now 1100 people in the two camps.
