Coast Guard, 19, is charged with the murder of a fellow mariner in Alaska

A 19-year-old Coast Guardsman was arrested and accused of the murder of a fellow mariner in Alaska this past January, the coast guard announced on Thursday.

Seaman Ethan Tucker, of Ludington, Mich., it was responsible for a number of violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), including murder, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, maim, obstruct justice, making false statements, and refuse to obey any regulation of the Coast Guard’s Pacific Area Public Affairs director, said.

I was charged on Wednesday, after the branch has conducted a seven-month investigation into the death of the Sailor, and He Kelch, 19, who was found unresponsive Feb. 27, along the shores of Amaknak Island. Kelch, a native of Virginia Beach, Va., it was said to have been hit in the head before being left for dead in the water, according to Tucker ” s charging document.

Emergency responders performed CPR, but the Kelch was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

I allegedly said, that he injured his hand when he was hit with a steel bulkhead in learning more about Kelch’s death, the charging document stated.

Both sailors were assigned to the Coast Guard Cutter Munro, which was deployed to Dutch Harbor for repairs.

The coast guard Senior Petty Officer NyxoLyno Cangemi told The Associated Press that the seafarers have worked in a variety of positions allocated to the Country.

“If they were sailors on board the ship, they would have to have a lot of interaction with each other, and the duties of the spouses,” Cangemi said.

I was transferred to Alameda, California, at the Coast Guard base in June, following the completion of the investigation it had launched, Cangemi said, and was assigned to the security division.

I was taken to the Naval Consolidated Brig, Miramar in San Diego, california, where he is awaiting an Article 32 hearing to determine whether or not there will be a court-martial trial.

“Ever since our mate’s untimely death, we have been in contact with his family, and to provide as much support as possible during this sad and difficult time,” Lt. Cmdr. Stephen Brickey, said in a statement. “The charges today are the result of the coast guard, and the unwavering desire to be the collection of all of the facts and a commitment to the rule of law.”
