A Back-up, Lana Del Rey, the flower crown look-alikes: There is a new horrible trend bloom this year at the Coachella.
Last weekend, the music took a back seat (as per usual) to sexy fashion worn among attendees, including a particularly brutal style:–less chaps.
City slicker, festival-goers were saddling up left and right on the Indio, California event — but some celebs were playing in the Western view, also.
Cardi B’s sister Hennessy Carolina stunned in a pink cow-printed getup with matching rodeo hat while YouTuber James Charles suited in a white suede, lined one-piece with, yes, his galley on full display.
Twitizens not exactly giddy for this ‘Chella chaps.
“Imagine paying 2 grand to go to Coachella just so you can post insta photos in a–less chaps,” said one user.
“Ok, there was a theme at Coachella, or is everyone just all of a sudden do cowboy hats, jeans, and a–less chaps???” proclaims a second.
“Coachella is literally 30% music, 70% of the-less leather chaps,” says another.
In addition, Instagram users have said howdy-do to a resurgence of Western wear on their feeds, including the rise of cowboy hats and knee-high boots.
The internet is #BlackYeehawAgenda, which sheds light on the meaning and the role of black cowboys in American history, has inspired recent fashion lines. (See: Pyer Moss Fall 2018 campaign and Telfar the “Country” collection, which debuted on the New York Fashion Week in February).
Solange, a Texas native, made her fourth studio album “As I am at Home” in the beginning of 2019, with similar American Western aesthetics.
With all this in mind: Are these guys the back of the yeehaw movement?
