CNN buys videodeelapp Beme of vlogger Casey Neistat
CNN has the videodeelapp Beme bought. The company was founded by, among others, filmmaker Casey Neistat and Matt Hackett.
The American television station wants the team behind the app to an independent mediamerk that millenials can be achieved, writes Variety on Monday.
All eleven employees of the Beme will go to work at CNN. The app Beme, that more than a million times has been downloaded, it will cease to exist. The new mediamerk will next summer be revealed and is part of CNN Digital.
Neistat showed earlier this month that temporarily stop his video blog to focus on other projects. The 35-year-old New Yorker has 5.8 million subscribers on YouTube. He is executive producer at the new mediamerk.
