Clown Bassie home for Christmas, after rehabilitation period
Bas van Toor, better known as Clown Bassie, this year will be at home Christmas to celebrate. The well-known televisieclown revalideerde the last months in the Marnix Rehabilitation centre for the Elderly in Vlaardingen, after he in april was hit by an auto-immune disease.
“Yes, delicious! Christmas day the whole family along, and probably I am, the day after that for pampus, because everything costs me a lot of energy,” says Van Toor (81) in The Telegraph.
The actor, who next year already performances planned, explains that he is also at home, many will need to train to use his power to get back. “Nevertheless, I feel that it is getting better and that must also: 1 may again occur in the calendar, and then clown Bassie back.”
At the beginning of this month, said Toor, that, during his period of illness in the rehabilitation centre, thought of suicide. In The Telegraph he says that he is here to be honest wanted to come true. “Pain is the worst that there is, especially if you are that twenty-four hours a day. That makes you love it, spiritually.”
His wife Coby brought him from committing suicide. “I’ve been there with my wife about it yet, but then I thought: don’t be such a schijtluis, Toor. I’m going to not let her sit with a bag of money, a new house and a lot of grief. Do not do it and go there again”, he then said to News.
He explains that he is to the world outside his grief would not show. “I have so often in my bed crying. You want your man nevertheless basically your tears do not show. The only thing that helped was morphine. It was terrible.”
“But well, we have talked and we are back home,” concludes Van Toor.
