Clemson University, the second found dead in off-campus house

CLEMSON, S. C. – A Clemson University student found dead in his off-campus residence.

News outlets report the university said in a press release that the 19-year-old Bowen Paul Ellis, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, was found dead Saturday afternoon.

Dean of Students Chris Miller says Ellis’ roommates found him unresponsive at their apartment.

Clemson City Police Deputy Chief Jeff Stone said officers responded to the call about 4:45 p.m. and contacted the Pickens County Coroner’s Office shortly thereafter. Stone says that the coroner’s office is expected to release the autopsy findings later this week.

Ellis was a second major in forest resource management.
