Claudia de Breij is going to be for the first time, a musical performance make. The show will go on variétéartieste Heintje Davids and get name, Here I am!”.
“I have to get all the years of comments from parents of young children, my music, singing along,” says the comedian in the AD. “But for those fans of the seven-or eight-year-old can be not so much with the society’s talk in my conference. And some of the jokes are also a little too crude for younger audiences.”
Therefore, it was decided that The Breij is a family show to make it. However, this does not mean that they are suddenly “in a story is to tell you about a teddy bear or a bug in a rug”. They found out that it is not the story of Heintje Davids is a good place for an exciting family programme. She refers to it as “a twist on the fairy tale of the ugly duckling by Hans Christian Anderson”.
The life of David
Heintje Davids, was the youngest in a Jewish-Dutch theatergezin. Her father, Levie, David was the comedian, and the proprietor, and her mother, Francina Terveen was the waitress. Both of her brothers, Louis and Hakkie as well as her sister, Rika, acted as the Family’s theater, the David, and they used this experience as a stepping-stone to a theatercarrière.
A brother, Louis died just before the Second world War, a brother, Rika, and a sister, Hakkie died in a nazi concentration camp. Heintje has survived as the only one in the war, and continued after the liberation of her career.
“Everyone said, Heintje, that they are too fat and too ugly for the stage, but they were still the same,” explains De Breij. “After the war, and she sang still, and I can do it without all of you, but then that text will bring a whole new load of us.”
The display of The Breij and contains songs by Heintje Davids, and the songs of the comedian. According to The Breij, this must be a show for everyone between 8 and 88. “It’s the story of Heintje, is already compelling enough for the story, her songs are timeless, and can be contagious. And I’ll be there in just a bit more child-like jokes in it than I normally do at my shows, do it.”
“Here I am! it is from the 10th to the 18th of October. Tickets go on Monday to start.
