NEWARK, N. J. – A New Jersey archbishop raised a few eyebrows when he tweeted “Nighty night, baby. I love you,” but his spokesman says that it is an incorrect message intended for his sister.
Cardinal Joseph Tobin’s spokesperson says that the leader of the Newark Roman Catholic archdiocese later removed Wednesday, a tweet because it is interpreted.
Spokesman Jim Goodness says Tobin, has eight sisters and they are all of his baby sisters.” Goodness said he did not know how the brothers and sisters were communicating before the message tweeted. Tobin’s Twitter account is to see that he tweets infrequently.
The full tweet read: “hear to be in the air in 10 minutes. Nighty night, baby. I love you.”
The 65-year-old Tobin was installed as Newark’s archbishop in January 2017.
