Christopher Plummer said that he is not really the replacement of Kevin Spacey in “All the Money in the World” and called the accusations of sexual misconduct against the 58-year-old actor was “very sad.”
Plummer, 87, spoke to Entertainment Tonight on Sunday, the premiere of his upcoming movie, “The Man Who Invented Christmas,” about the acquisition of Spacey, the role of the J. Paul Getty last-minute recast of director Ridley Scott, despite the December release date.

“It is not replaced. In a funny way, it starts all over again, because it’s going to be different, of course,” Plummer said.
“The situation is very sad, because he is a talented boy. The whole circumstance is sad,” he added. “But I have to forget that and to go and do it, because it is a very well written script, and Ridley is very good.”
Plummer revealed he was in talks to be cast as the Getty before Spacey was finally chosen for the role. He admitted that the “good press” to have the film ready for the Dec. 22 release date, but said it was a “big classical role.”
“It is a big classical role. He is a great villain and he is a heart of gold suddenly,” Plummer said. “It could not be better!”
Reshooting the scene is expected to cost $410 million and eight to 10 days, Variety reported. Filming for “All the Money in the World” is expected to begin next week Monday, Plummer told Entertainment Tonight.
Spacey was dropped from the film last week after the increase of the number of sexual assault allegations against him. He was defeated for a number of projects, including Netflix’s “House of Cards”, where he played Francis Underwood for five seasons.
Kevin Spacey was re-formulated in “All the Miney in the World” after allegations of misconduct against the actor.
