It is a Grammy-award winner, Christina Aguilera, as you’ve never seen her before. The ‘Dirrty’ singer removed all of her make-up and hair extensions for a ‘liberating’ Paper magazine cover.
Christina Aguilera made waves last year when she announced that she would never be a coach on “The Voice”.
Now, the Grammy-winner is the opening of even more about her decision to leave the hit NBC singing competition show.
Aguilera revealed that working on her new album “Liberation,” and opened her eyes to a number of personal questions. “What I was doing last year with ‘Liberation’ was a kind of a separation of a certain skin on a certain level,” she told People magazine.
“For that time I had myself completely to television and be a part of a network that’s really not quite fit for me after the time I put in,” the 38-year-old added.

“I wanted to be grounded again in my artist’s body, and that is what I did with ‘Liberation'” the “Beautiful” singer continued. “Moving on, this time, it’s just an exciting time of fresh energy. Vegas comes at the perfect time for me.”
Aguilera added that she took “The Voice” to work, because it was stable for her children, in comparison with a touring schedule. “I was so scared during the tour for so long. It took me a long time. I originally took the chair at ‘The Voice’, because it kept me in a little bit of a more grounded position for my children.”
“But after a certain time, of course, the artist in me was like, ‘I have to evolve!’ I was just very afraid to go on tour and the instability felt I would perhaps have to explain to my children,” she added.
Previously, Aguilera told Billboard magazine about leaving “The Voice”: “It was something that I didn’t feel was what I had signed on for in season one…You realize that it’s not about the music. It’s about making good TV moments, and the massaging of a story.”

“I’m not in this business to make a tv show host to be given to these [rules]…Especially as a woman: You can’t wear this, can’t say. I would be myself on that show are desperately trying to express myself through clothing or makeup or hair. It was my only kind of outlet,” she added.
Last week, “The Voice” lost one of his old coaches, Adam Levine. He left the series after 16 seasons. “I am truly honored to have been a part of something I will always cherish for the rest of my life,” the Maroon 5 frontman wrote. “To all the loyal voice fans, there is literally no show without you. It was time for me to go further. Your support is meant for ALL.”

For the upcoming 17th season coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend will return. It was announced that Gwen Stefani will take Levine’s place.
Meanwhile, Aguilera’s Las Vegas residency begins Friday.
