Christianity Today editor defends editorial calling for Trump’s removal

nearvideo trump blasts Evangelical magazine is calling for his removal from office

Response from Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

A top Evangelical Christian writers defended on Sunday with a last scathing editorial, he wrote, is the President of trump demanded to get out of the office to be removed.

Mark Galli, the editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, said in an interview with CBS’ “Face The Nation” that trump the support of the causes important to the Evangelical community can no longer excuse his actions in other areas and said the President “occupy morally unfit” to the Oval Office.

“I’m making a moral judgment is, that he is not morally capable, or, more precisely, it is public morality that makes him unfit,” Galli said.

While Galli acknowledged that “none of us is perfect,” he added that the President “has a certain responsibility as a public figure, to display a certain level of public characters, and public morality.”

“He gives us what we need, to ‘pro-life’ – but you have this bad character,” Galli said. “And the fundamental argument I make is that we crossed a border somewhere in the impeachment hearings, at least in my eyes, that the balance no longer works.”

Galli has drawn criticism for the editorial he published last Thursday, but has refused to back off his criticism of Trump.

In his piece, which was published a day after the house of representatives to accuse Trump agreed to the charges of abuse of power and obstruction of the Congress, argued that while the Democrats “have had it for [Trump] from the first day,” facts against trump are “unique.”

“The facts in this case are clear: the President of The United States tried to force its political power to harass a foreign leader and to discredit one of the President’s political opponents,” Galli wrote. “This is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is deeply immoral.”

He added: “The reason why many are not shocked that this President has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral acts in the company-and its relation to women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone, with his usual string of mischaracterizations, lies and slander — is a near-perfect example of a man who lost morally and confused.”

In spite of Galli ‘ s criticism, Trump solid support among white envangelical voters still enjoys, with a recent Fox News poll found that 67 percent of them are still his work, approve performance compared to the 53 percent of Americans reject the President. The survey also found that while 50 percent of voters believe the President should be indicted and removed from office, 67 percent of white evangelicals believe Trump, you should not be charged even.
