ORLANDO, Florida. – A Florida university student is sent home to China, because police say he exhibited “disruptive behavior” and bought a second assault weapon, and to come to the attention of the police.
University of Central Florida Police say they spoke with the 26-year-old Wenliang Sun in the beginning of February after unspecified “special instructions” to a counselor.
The Orlando Sentinel reports Friday he also stopped attending classes, dyed his hair and bought an expensive car. UCF Police Chief Richard Beary said these actions, taken together, raised alarms.
Because he is not attending classes, his student visa was revoked and he was taken into custody in the last month. An immigration judge last week ordered him deported. He remains in prison pending their deportation.
Beary said investigators believe “we just saved a bunch of lives.”
