China’s Huawei says ready to work with Poland to build trust

WARSAW (Reuters) – Chinese telecom company Huawei is ready to work with the Polish government on additional measures to build trust, Andy Purdy, chief security officer at Huawei Technologies USA, said on Wednesday.

The Polish government is considering with the exception of Huawei equipment of the future 5G network about the concern first raised in the United States that Huawei technology and can be equipped with a back-doors, sources told Reuters in January.

This week the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo allies warned against the use of the equipment of Huawei, saying it would make it more difficult for Washington to partner with them.”

In January Poland arrested a Chinese employee of Huawei and a former Polish security official on espionage allegations.
