The State-run Chinese paper the Global Times, has confirmed that the contraption was made of a new type of experimental helicopter, known as the Great White Shark.
The vessel can be coated with stealth materials, and will be loaded with the missiles, making it a potentially lethal weapon on the field of battle.
The “Super Great White Shark, is a high-speed helicopter designed to be the future of digitalized warfare,” the Global Times wrote.
“Drawn in by the futuristic design of the aircraft, the Chinese military observers have pointed to the fact that the aircraft’s high speed and stealth capabilities of the weapon, a competitive edge on the field of battle.”
The helicopter seemed to show up at the China Aviation Helicopter Industrial Base in east China area of Binhai.
It was, in essence, is a wide metal ring with a cockpit stuck in the middle, which stretches more than seven feet tall and three feet wide.
A propeller was housed in the inside of the ring, supported by two turbojet engines, with a view to ensuring their progress. The craft is the perfect size, it would help you avoid detection on the battlefield
The plans suggest that the vessel would have been able to get to the firing of missiles at enemy targets, although it is exactly where they should start, it remains to be seen.
It can apparently reach speeds of up to 400mph, flying up to 20,000 feet in height.
Some of the experts in China has reportedly expressed concerns that the vessel might not be stable enough to take flight. Similar experiments in the US were canned.
“Regardless of whether or not this particular helicopter, it may be practical, these explorations are beneficial to China’s development of a technology for the future helicopter,” an anonymous military expert, told the Global Times.
