Ambassador Cui Tiankai made the remarks in a Tuesday interview with Bret Baier on “Special Report,” who speaks in the Wake of a breakdown in the trade earlier this month.
“The trade deficit has many of the structural reasons behind it. It is not just a simple game of numbers,” Cui said. “But we are ready, the imbalance in the trade. We are ready to take action, to buy more American products and services.”

Cui said he is optimistic that a new trade Pact come to fruition, to forge if “both sides” of the negotiating table, the “political will” needed to.
“A good business must be made on the basis of mutual respect and mutual benefit,” he said. “China remains ready to continue to achieve our discussions with our American colleagues, a degree.”
Baier asked about a New York Times report that claims Chinese President Xi Jinping “misjudged,” President Trump’s fervor to make a deal, lead the negotiations to fall apart.
“We are still obligated to agree with what we have,” Cui said. “It is the U.S. side that changes its mind so often.”
Baier also brought the contrast between Trump’s comments about the role of China as an economic rival and the former Vice-President Joe Biden – the current democratic 2020 front-runner.
“[Biden] said that China is a competitor of us. China is a massive competitor of us,” Trump said, “The Next Revolution” host Steve Hilton in a Sunday interview.
Trump was addressing comments Biden at a campaign stop in New Hampshire last week, where he said China, “you are bad people, people, but you know what, you are no competition for us.”
